Working behind the scenes, SDAM facilitated a public/private funding partnership between the Prebys Foundation and the San Diego County Supervisors to increase funding for the San Diego County Community Enhancement Program (CEP), specifically earmarking funding for the arts. The grant opportunity was announced to the public in December 2024. It enabled $250,000 of San Diego County CEP funds to be matched dollar for dollar with a $250,000 grant from the Prebys Foundation, restricted to applicants with arts and culture funding requests.

Once the San Diego County Arts and Culture Commission, which advises the San Diego County Supervisors on matters related to the arts and culture, reviews grant applications, the Prebys Foundation will make the final grant selections.

The pilot program is intended to demonstrate the power of public/private philanthropic partnerships to support nonprofit arts and culture organizations doing good work in support of the arts in the San Diego region.
